About Gregg Hymowitz

Gregg Hymowitz graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton where he received his BA, Phi Beta Kappa in 1987. He went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School where he graduated Cum Laude. In 1985 Hymowitz was one of five Harry S. Truman Scholars from New York, and in 1987 he was honored as a British Hansard Society Scholar.

Gregg Hymowitz is active in Democratic politics. He was the National Co-Chairman of the 2004 Presidential bid of Congressman Richard Gephardt’s for the U.S. Presidency. In 2001, Hymowitz was invited to discuss his views and insights into capital markets before the Committee on Financial Services of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Hymowitz has frequently appeared on a variety of talk shows discussing financial news and views, including Fox News, CNN and CNBC.

Gregg Hymowitz is also active in supporting charitable organizations in the New York area. In 2004 the Governor’s Committee on Scholastic Achievement honored Hymowitz for his contribution towards promoting academic excellence in New York City.

He is also involved as a trustee of the Hymowitz Children’s Education Foundation which is one of the sponsors of the well-known New York Knicks Poetry Slam Program. The sixth annual InvestHedge Awards honored Gregg Hymowitz in 2008. This award is given in recognition of the best global fund of funds judged according to the best risk-adjusted performance. In 2009, EnTrust was honored once again as a nominee for the Fund of Funds Leader of the Year Award with the Hedge Fund Industry Award.

Gregg Hymowitz began his career in investment management at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, in the mergers and acquisitions department. In 1992, after his tenure at Skadden, Arps he moved on to Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was Vice President until founding EnTrust Capital in 1997.
