News in from Detroit is that General Motors Co. just paid back the $8.1 billion loans they owed the US and Canadian governments. CEO Whitacre announced this move, stating that it clearly indicated the company is well on its way to recovery.
Perhaps this also means that investor and businessman Gregg Hymowitz, was right. A few months ago he was involved in a discussion on Cavuto on Business about the merits of Wal-Mart versus General Motors. Whereas Joe Battapaglia and Charles Payne both said that Wal-Mart was for sure the better bet for Americans, Hymowitz insisted it was General Motors Co. He argued that this company would benefit the country as a whole and their employees in particular.
When the company declared bankruptcy last year, it took in $52 billion from the US government and $9.5 billion from the Canadian and Ontario governments. Finally though, it now appears that things are looking up for GM Motors Co.
People with autism do not suffer alone; this affects the whole family. It is indeed a very challenging condition. There are however, various different therapies that have, over the years, tremendously helped these individuals. For example, equine assisted therapy (therapeutic horseback riding) encourages the patient to take a big part in caring for the horse, when ordinarily they find any kind of bonding very difficult.
There is something very peaceful about being on a horse farm, such as Rosehill Horse Farm, owned by Gregg Hymowitz. While at a horse farm, one is given the opportunity to feel free while riding the horse through beautiful landscapes as well as grooming and tacking (putting on riding equipment) the horse. One can even become quite attached to the horse if they spend enough time with the animal.
This is another reason autistic individuals can benefit so much from equine assisted therapy. It has been proven to aid in these individuals’ communication and motor skills as well as their social etiquette. Whereas the person with autism will have significant difficulties bonding with people, with horses this problem is less apparent.

In one of these forums Mr. Hymowitz was quoted as saying,
This is solid, common sense advice that would behoove investors to adhere to. It is dangerous and unwise to follow the crowd and invest in trendy things or in the market in general based on remarks of politicians, the latest movie hit or whether there will be rain or snow. According to Gregg Hymowitz investing in the stock market is not the same as betting on a horse race. It is rather a chance to put your faith in a company in which you believe will succeed based on objective criteria which can be investigated.
